SPICY STEW PORK

Prep time 35 minutes

Cook Time 1hr 35 minutes

  • 3lbs pork cut up in chunks ( can be from the shoulder or the butt)
  • 2 tbsp sazon all -purpose seasoning
  • 2 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  •  1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3cup tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp whole spice(pimiento seeds)
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 medium tomatoes diced
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 6 sprigs fresh thyme.
  • 1/3 cup canola oil aand 2 tbsp.
  • 2 cups of water

 

 

 

DIRECTIONS

Wash pork in salt water,let it sit in salt water about  10 minute.

In a large bowl season pork with all the dry ingredients, ecxept for brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover and sit in refrigerator at least 2 hours.  In a skillet or frying pan,heat oil on medium heat, brown each pork pieces on each side, until you have a golden brown color. I left some of the fat for flavor . Remove brown pork pieces and set on a plate.
